Doctors ‘strike a note’ for special school
KOZHIKODE: A few doctors are extending a helping hand to the needy through their magnanimity blended with creativity. A group of doctors of the 1991 batch of Kozhikode Medical College, under the banner ‘Doctors melody bytes’ is all set to release a music album to mobilise funds for the construction of a building for a special school in Nilambur.
The ghazal album titled, ‘Pranayathilaanu njaan’ will be released by actor Joy Mathew at K.P. Keshavamenon hall here on August 19.
“The Kozhikode branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has offered support to us by distributing the album among its members,” said Dr K.T. Manoj, an active member of the group.
The special school in Nilambur has mentally challenged children and the institution has been crippled because of acute lack of infrastructure. Besides Dr Manoj, Dr M.P Rajesh Kumar and Dr Siju are coordinating the activities of the group, ‘Doctors melody bytes’.
Playback singers like G. Venugopal, Gayathri, Sithara, Nishad, Amal Antony have sung the songs to the lyrics of poet O.P Suresh and Dr K.T. Manoj, Mohsin Omar has rendered the music. G. Venugopal among others will be present at the album release function.
