BSF Jawan caught with counterfeit currency

Rajesh and his team arrived at the liquor store, caught the jawan and seized the fake notes
Srikakulam: Tekkali police on Sunday arrested a BSF jawan on charges of circulating fake currency notes and seized counterfeit currency notes with a face value of Rs 37,000.
The jawan, identified as P. Varaprasad Rao, 30, a native of Devalabadra under Nandigama mandal claimed that he had found a bag containing the fake currency while on duty at the Indo-Bangla border. Sub-inspector G. Rajesh said that Rao had returned home on leave from the border on August 14 and had gone to Tekkali on Sunday for shopping. The BSF Jawan bought a liquor bottle and paid for it with a note having face value of Rs 1,000. The cashier at the store grew suspicious about the genuineness of the note, but returned the balance. He then alerted the police.
