Sanjana Singh on a roll

Actress Sanjana Singh, who was impressive in Renigunta, is excited about her role in the Aari-starrer Maane Thaene Paeye. “It’s a romantic film and Aari plays an IT professional. The film also has another heroine, Bengali actress Subhashree Ganguly. The film gives scope for me to be both modern and traditional. In the first half, I appear with a bikini and in the second half, I play a homely character,” Sanjana tells DC.

Ask her what kind of role she’d like to play in films, and Sanjana says she doesn’t want to repeat herself. “For instance, I can’t play a sex worker again, like I did in Renigunta,”she clarifies. Looks like the actress eyes more on Bollywood. She will be shaking a leg in a song in her debut Hindi film Thoda Lutf Thoda Ishq. “The song is titled Maggi and is sung by Mamta Sharma. Initially, I was apprehensive about dancing, however this offer came to me after the director saw one of my dance videos,” she says. So, what’s next? “I play one of the leads in Face of Truth, directed by Vikrant More, in which I play a call centre employee. The film predominantly deals with the issue of suicide,” she adds.
