Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao felicitated B.V.R Chary, creator of the Telangana Thalli statue, on Independence Day with a Rs 1.16 lakh cash award and a citation.
Mr Rao presented police medals and cash awards for those who laid down their lives fighting terrorists. Mr Rao, among other cops, gave ex gratia to sub-inspector D. Srinivas of Karimnagar who lost sight in both eyes in a Maoist ambush.
