Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale hints at split in ‘near future’

Display boards would be set up prominently in the HC showing the progress of cases in all court halls

Hyderabad: Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale of the Hyderabad High Court appealed to lawyers and the people of Telangana and AP to enjoy every moment of togetherness.

He was addressing judicial officers and lawyers and their families after hoisting the National Flag at the High Court on Independence Day.

Indirectly touching on the demand for separate HCs, Justice Bhosale hinted at the likelihood of “some good things” happening in the near future.

He said, “We have to maintain patience for some more time. Good things will happen in the near future.”

Justice Bhosale said, “Till that time let us enjoy the togetherness. People are coming to us with great hope and faith when all other doors are shut and we should not let them down.”

Explaining the technological innovations introduced in the High Court, Justice Bhosale said that 12 information kiosks were coming up through which either a litigant or lawyer could verify the case status.

He said four important services — case status information, cause list information, case hearing status and HC notifications — had been made available on Android.

Within six weeks, display boards would be set up prominently in the HC showing the progress of cases in all court halls.

Justice Bhosale announced that by November-end, a paperless court would start functioning in the High Court where lawyers would have to argue using laptops and tabs rather than hard copies of petitions and counters.

Despite the CJ’s message, a group of advocates stood at a distance from the festivities, holding placards seeking bifurcation of the HC.
