Cash for vote row: ACB to issue notice to AP officials

Sources said investigation into the cash-for-vote scam can be undermined by hiding the duo

Hyderabad: Telangana State Anti-Corruption Bureau are considering issuing a notice to some AP police officials and politicians for sheltering two cash-for-vote scam accused, Jerusalem Mattaiah and Jimmy Babu, who are now absconding.

“There is a suspicion that the two accused have been given protection by some influential persons. We are verifying the information. Once we establish that these two have been given shelter, we will issue legal notices to them,” said an investigation official.

Mattaiah and Jimmy Babu, who are confidants of a top Telugu Desam leader, cannot hide themselves from the Anti-Corruption Bureau without help from the top brass, ACB sources said. Sources said investigation into the cash-for-vote scam can be undermined by hiding the duo.
