Plea against MBBS admission rejected by Madras High Court
A division bench had elaborately considered the entire matter and dismissed the batch of petitions

Madras High Court.
Chennai: The Madras high court has rejected a plea to declare the admission of students from other professional colleges to MBBS course in the academic year 2015-16 as invalid.
Dismissing the petitions filed by aspiring students S.S. Shrinidhi and R. Vasanthakumar, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice T.S. Sivagnanam, said, “We are not inclined to entertain a piecemeal challenge to the admissions for the MBBS/BDS course for the year 2015-16 session by way of these petitions. The senior counsel for the petitioners submitted that the cut off date for closure of admission is September 30, 2015, and therefore, this court can examine the issue.
“We are not persuaded by this submission, as we are inclined to hold that this is the second round of litigation arising out of a same cause of action. Furthermore, all the candidates who have been selected have joined the course and we are not inclined to entertain these petitions nor disturb the selection which has already been finalised.”
The bench said the petitioners and other similarly placed persons, who had completed their plus-2 and had applied for selection for MBBS/BDS courses for 2015-16 session had filed a batch of petitions to prevent the candidates who have completed their plus-2 prior to the year 2014-15 for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.
A division bench had elaborately considered the entire matter and dismissed the batch of petitions. The Supreme Court also dismissed their special leave petitions. It was after the dismissal of the SLP, the petitioners have come forward with these petitions, the bench pointed out.
