Karnataka: 20 cops, 5 firemen bag President’s medal

BENGALURU: On the occasion of Independence Day, 20 policemen from the state have been conferred with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service by the President of India.

ADGP (DCRE) Bhaskar Rao, Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration) B.N.S. Reddy and DCP (VVIP Security) K. Eshwar Prasad have been conferred with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

The following 17 policemen have been conferred with President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service: Hemant Nimbalkar, DIG, CID; M. S. Indushekar, SP & Principal, KSPTS, Channapatna; S.K. Umesha, ACP, Vijayanagar Sub-division, Bengaluru; Shivakumaraiah, ACP, CAR, Mysuru City; C.W. Poovaiah, Dy.SP, Kushalanagar Sub-division, Kodagu; Balegowda, Police Inspector, Tilakpark Circle, Tumakuru; K. Ajayakumar, Police Inspector, Police Wireless Training School, Bengaluru; S.V. Chikkaramaswamy, Sub Inspector (Wireless), Central Technical Stores, Bengaluru; M. L. Gopal Krishna, Sub Inspector (Wireless), Central Technical Stores, Bengaluru; R. Venkatesha Murthy, Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI), CID; N. Virupaksha, ASI, Mallandur Police Station, Chikamagaluru; H.R. Vishwanath, ASI, Kadur Police Station, Chikamagaluru; D. M. Pachapur, Special Assistant Reserve Sub-inspector, Indian Reserve Battalion, Munirabad; H.V. Vasudeva Rao, Head Constable, State Intelligence, Bengaluru; Azam, Head Constable, Karnataka Lokayukta, Raichur; P. A. Palangappa, Head Constable, 5th Battalion, KSRP, Mysuru and K.R. Purushottam, Head Constable, 7th Battalion, KSRP, Mangaluru
Meanwhile, five officials of the Fire and Emergency Department have also been conferred with the President’s Medal. N R Markandeya, Chief Fire Officer, has been conferred with President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service.

Regional Fire Officer Gurulingaiah C, District Fire Officer Obayya Moolya, Fire Station Officer Channappa, and painter Basha Saheb have been conferred with President’s Medal for Meritorious Service.
Among the Home Guards, Srinivasamurthy M (Senior Platoon Commander), Shankar Rao P (Senior Platoon Commander), and Rajanna Muddumallappa (Instructor) have been conferred with the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service.
