Four terror suspects with HUJI links held in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: On the eve of Independence Day, four terror suspects alleged to have links with the banned terrorist organisation HuJI and two local agents, accused of sheltering them, were arrested by the Hyderabad police on Friday.
The prime accused Nasir is a close aide of senior HuJI leader Abdul Jabbar. The foreign nationals also procured Indian passports and Voter ID cards and Aadhar cards with fake documents.
Police also seized Indian passports, one Bangladesh passport, used by the accused to travel abroad. Police seized Voter ID cards and Aadhar cards from their possession.
The terror suspects were identified as Mohammed Nasir, Joynal Abedin Faizal Mohamoud, and Zia Ur Rehman. While the local agents were identified as Mohammed Masood Ali Khan and Sohail Parvez Khan.
Nasir met HuJI leader Abdul Jabbar, while he was in Pakistan and was indoctrinated with terrorist ideology. Later, Nasir turned a HuJI supporter and intruded into India through the Indo-Bangla border in 2010.
In Hyderabad, Nasir met a private teacher Sohail and Masood, a Xerox shop operator at Chanchalguda. “With this relation, Nasir gave shelter to illegal immigrants at Masood’s house in Chanchalguda. Using Masood’s residential address, Nasir arranged Voter ID cards, Aadhaar cards for them. With this proofs, he also arranged Indian passports,” said central crime station DCP T. Prabhakar Rao.
Recently, three immigrants, who intruded into India, through West Bengal came to Masood’s house. Nasir arranged Voter ID cards, Aadhaar cards and passports for these illegal immigrants.
During investigation, police found that Masood gave shelter to more than 15 illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar. He arranged Indian passports and Aadhaar cards for all of them by fraudulent means and sent them abroad.
Police registered a case against the six accused and produced them before the court. They were sent to judicial remand till August 28.
