A canvas of white

Walk into their home and there are hints of colours here and there

When Madhav Varma, MD, Nfinity Solutions and wife Prashanthi, director of a power generation company, were designing their 4,800 sq. ft villa in a gated community in Kondapur, they set the colour white as their canvas. Walk into their home and there are hints of colours here and there. They live in the bungalow with their two daughters Tanvi and Riya.

Their thoughts were in sync with their interior designer Vijaya Alluri, who designed their home along with her partner Suma. Talking about the place, Vijaya says, “We played around the base colour white by accentuating different elements. This way, even if they are bored after a while, they can just change the accents and their home will have a new look.”

Prashanthi, who wanted a subtle look, agrees, “I wanted a clutter free home. I have two little kids, so I wanted the home to be child-friendly,” she says.

Living in a community, Prashanthi was happy to have all the amenities, but she also wanted privacy. “That’s why in the garden on one side we have a small partition wall,” she says.

The first floor houses the family’s bedrooms. The kids’ room has a “princess” theme. There’s also a study and a family lounge here. The floor above has the home theatre and terrace. The acoustic home theatre incudes a studio for Madhav, who’s interested in singing. There’s also an interesting seating space on the terrace.
