Introduced in 2010, the Xiaomi MIUI operating system has gone through 249 variations. Since then, the MIUI has been downloaded over 150 million times. Latest reports claim that Xiaomi has released its latest MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

Face Detection:
Xiaomi’s newly introduced MIUI 7 operating system comes with the Face detection feature. The face detection mode of MIUI 7 identifies each individual present in the image, which is stored in the People tab in the Gallery app. Reports state that the software can also identify and differentiate pets captured by the phone camera.
MI Roaming app
Xaiomi’s MI Roaming app allows you to buy special data packages, without switching on to multiple SIM cards. The company claims that this app serves as a virtual SIM card to help you stay connected from any corner of the world.
Baby Photos App:
Xiaomi has introduced a special Baby Photos app for MIUI 7 users that can be shared with your friends. Switching on to the Kids mode allows children to use your handset powered by MIUI 7, by restricting certain apps.
Personalised themes:
The new Xiaomi MIUI 7 offers customised wallpapers and themes designed for men and women separately. A report by GSMArena stated that it includes a pink-inspired ‘Goddess’ mode for women , which allows you to apply themes combined with wallpapers and screensavers.
Contact list accompanied with videos
Setting a profile image and ringtone for each and every contact might have just bored you to the core. With the new MIUI 7 software, Xiaomi users can also set videos for contacts. You will be able to view your favourite video whenever anyone calls you up.
Presently, the MIUI has only been announced for the Chinese market. However, Xiaomi will be announcing the mega launch of MIUI 7 on August 19, for the Indian market.
