Bench suggested to ensure that victim received monthly rent from her mother's flat

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday asked the Telangana government to file an affidavit explaining the steps being taken for the protection of Pratyusha, who was tortured by her parents.
The High Court bench took up the case following a letter from Justice Challa Kodanda Ram in which he sought the court’s intervention. The Telangana government’s counsel informed the court that the government had decided to pay Rs 5 lakh to the victim.
The bench suggested placing the amount in a fixed deposit and ensure that she gets monthly interest. While adjourning the case to August 20, the bench also suggested to ensure that the victim received monthly rental from the flat owned by her mother.
