Oommen Chandy honours kin of 40 organ donors
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday honoured the kin of deceased donors and reiterated the government’s resolve to make air ambulance facility a reality soon.
At a function organised by the Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS) to mark the World Organ Transplant Day, Mr Chandy honoured 40 families of deceased donors by handing over a certificate of appreciation signed by Health Minster on behalf of the state government.
The chief minister said the government had already issued expression of interest notification and negotiations were on with interested parties at various level to put in place air ambulance facility for organ transportation.
He hoped the project would be on rails at the earliest. Mr Chandy thanked each family for supporting such a noble cause.
