BJP yatra exposes differences in party
Hyderabad: Differences in the BJP leadership came to the fore during state president G. Kishan Reddy‘s ‘Sampark yatra’ in Mahbubnagar on Thursday.
BJP national executive member Nagam Janardhan Reddy and former Mahbubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, both hailing from the district, skipped the party meet.
“I did not attend the meet as I was pre-occupied. They are doing it (holding the meeting)... let them do it,” Dr Janardhan Reddy told this newspaper when asked for the reason of his absence.
Asked whether he had any plans to quit the BJP, he said: “I am still in the BJP.” Sources in the party said all was not well between Mr Kishan Reddy and some leaders including Dr Janardhan Reddy and Mr Srinivas Reddy. It is alleged that instructions were sent out to BJP leaders in the district to not invite Mr Srinivas Reddy.
The talk in BJP circiles is that some leaders are backing Dr Janardhan Reddy for the state party presidency which is due to fall vacant soon.
