Unlike last year’s lavish 50th birthday celebrations, Sridevi’s birthday this year was a more private and sober affair. The actress flew to Chennai to bring in her birthday with family that included husband Boney Kapoor, her two daughters and her sister Latha’s family. She also got a special gift from the team of her upcoming Tamil flick Puli, which released the film’s first look. The poster has Sridevi looking like royalty alongside leading man Vijay.
Said her proud husband Boney, “Vijay tweeted the first look of the film and Sri has been flooded with congratulatory messages from her fans in the South since.” Interestingly, two young ladies —Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwane — play parallel leading ladies in the film, but it is being projected as a Vijay-Sridevi starrer. “Sri is returning to Tamil films after 30 years so the excitement is understandable. But I am surprised by how staunch her fans are still. I am her biggest fan, of course. The lucky one who got to marry her!” quips Boney.
