Bengaluru: A couple committed suicide by hanging at their house in Binnamangala on the Old Madras Road on Tuesday night in Indiranagar police station limits. The deceased have been identified as Jeevan, 32, and his wife Rekha, 28.
They hail from Mumbai and had come to the city few years ago. According to the police, Jeevan, a painter by profession, and Rekha had moved to Binnamangala Slums, along with their three children, around five months ago.
At the time of incident, Rekha had left her children at her mother’s house in KGF. The death came to light on Wednesday morning after few neighbours sensed foul smell emanating from the house and informed the police. The police who rushed to the spot recovered a death note, which stated that ‘No one is responsible for our death’.
The police suspect that financial woes forced them to take the extreme step. Indiranagar police have registered a case.
