Armed gang assaults man in broad daylight
BENGALURU: A 46-year-old broker at the Ramanagar taluk office was allegedly brutally assaulted in broad daylight by a gang of four armed men on Wednesday morning in Marenahalli in Ramanagar district.
The victim, Narayanswamy – a resident of Marenahalli, was assaulted around 9.30 am on Wednesday under Kumbalgodu police limits. The police said that Narayanswamy was on his way to taluk office in his jeep when the gang intercepted him and attacked him with lethal weapons near Cholapur Temple.
Narayanswamy was injured in the head, shoulders and back. He was immediately shifted to a nearby government hospital. The police said he is in a critical condition. He is survived by his wife and two children.
“The police are waiting for the victim to gain consciousness to get more details of the attack and the attackers. “As of now, we cannot ascertain who was behind the brutal assault,” said an investigating officer.
