Start-up Boxes for 50 mobile app developers
Thiruvananthapuram: Startup Boxes comprising gadgets will be distributed among 50 young mobile application developers or aspiring innovators here on Wednesday as part of the government's Youth Entrepreneurs Scheme.
A website of Kerala State Startup Mission (KSUM) that connects student-entrepreneurs, mentors, professionals and investors across the world will also be launched on the occasion.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will distribute the Startup Boxes to the students who were selected through a programme conducted by Startup Village. The boxes will have MacBook, iPhone, Google Nexus, Kindles and Arduino starter kit.
IT principal secretary P. H. Kurian said in a statement that access to the most advanced gadgets and latest technology would ignite the innovation spirit in youngsters. "We intend to follow it up year on year with the latest gadgets and kits,” he said. Chief secretary Jiji Thomson will launch the new portal of KSUM.
