Kathiroor Manoj murder: Petition for Madhusoodhanan custody rejected
The court had earlier granted him interim bail.

KANNUR: The Thalassery district sessions court on Tuesday dismissed the CBI’s petition to get CPM Payyannur Area secretary T.I. Madhusoodhanan into their custody for the Kathiroor Manoj murder investigation.
Judge R. Narayana Pisharody granted permanent bail to Mr Madhus-oodhanan citing that the charges against him did not come within the purview of non-bailable offences.
The court had earlier granted him interim bail. The CPM leader is the 20th accused, for arranging facilities for the treatment of the main accused, Vikraman, at a hospital in Payyannur.
In the case, CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan had been charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) sections.
RSS district Sharirik Shikshan Pramukh E. Manoj was murdered in Kathirur on September 1, 2014. Manoj was the fifth accused in the murder attempt on Mr Jayarajan in 1999.
