Suriya enjoys a huge following in the Telugu states, and many of his films have done good business there. His upcoming film 24, which is touted to be a psychological thriller is being made in such a way that it caters to both Tamil and Telugu audiences.
Moreover, the film is being directed by Vikram Kumar who has given a couple of hit movies in Telugu. The latest is that the dubbed Telugu version of the film has been bought for a huge sum.
Tollywood actor Nithin bagged the rights to the film for around Rs 20 crore. The amount is considered huge among trade circles as Suriya’s previous two flicks Anjaan and Raksha sudu didn’t have encouraging business.
The film has Samantha playing the female lead and AR Rahman teaming up with Suriya for the first time. Interestingly, Nithin’s upcoming film in Telugu will have Samantha romancing him for the first time too. 24, which reportedly has Suriya in three roles, has completed 50 per cent of its shooting with a lion’s share shot in Mumbai.
