Apple looks all set to fight bendgate with the next iPhone

Apple to launch the next generation iPhone by second week of September

The incidence of bendgate that took place in 2014, came as quite a shock for not only the Apple fans, but Apple itself. Only after three days of it hitting the Apple stores, iPhone 6 was complained of bending under pressure in user’s pockets.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which sport a sleek aluminium body, were detailed to be weak, near the volume rocker area.

Soon after the occurrence of bendgate, Apple was reported to have filed a patent titled ‘Encapsulation of a Stiffener Layer in Aluminum’, which explains how Apple plans to add strength to its device’s housing.

Recently, the YouTuber who had exploded the Internet by releasing the video of the iPhone 6 bending with bare hands, has put up another video with the purportedly leaked housing of the Apple iPhone 6s. According to the YouTuber, Apple has used its patent for a stiffener in the device’s housing. As opposed to the 6061 series used on iPhone 6, the new iPhone will use a 7000 series aluminium, making the case almost twice as thick, around the volume rocker area.

Apple, however, has not confirmed any of this yet. Also, if rumours are to be believed, Apple, like every year, will be unveiling the next generation iPhone in the second week of September, presumably the ninth of the month.
