Superfast Internet: Download a full HD movie in just one second!
Imagine downloading a full HD movie in just above one second or a 4K movie in less than a minute! Yes, superfast internet is almost here, but it will come at a huge cost. Google had recently announced high-speed internet with a 1Gb/s bandwidth for homes. Though the speeds were exorbitantly high, they are not yet available to the masses. But according to a report on The Globe And Mail, a Canadian company is claiming to have tapped into a ultra-high internet broadband connection, which can offer blazing speeds of almost 1TB every second.
Canadian company Bell Canada claims that around 1.3 billion homes around Ontario and Quebec are capable of obtaining superfast internet speeds and downloads, which are estimated to be around 940MB every second. This will be the widest service (when started) so far and is expected to expand to 2.2 million homes by end of this year.
However, the only downside of the superfast ultra-high speed internet broadband connections would be the price. The present cost for a 15mbps bandwidth with a 50GB monthly data cap is around $56 and rises to $150 for high speeds (without data cap). A 300mbps speed with a cap of 750GB of data would cost around $96. Google offers a 1 Gigabit connection for $91.
Bell has been investing a whopping $1.14 billion into the fibre-to-home project rollout in Toronto. The project was part of an almost $20-billion investment to upgrade Bell’s networks by 2020.
