Kottayam: The police on Monday submitted the charge-sheet in the Parampuzha triple murder case at the Kottayam judicial first class magistrate court 1, nearly three months after the murder.
Mooleparampil Lalason, 71, who ran a dry cleaning centre at Parambuzha near here, his wife Prasanna Kumary, 62, and son Praveen Lal, 28, were found murdered in their house on May 16.
The accused Narendra Kumar, 26, son of Kailas Chandra, a native of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested six days after the crime. He had allegedly murdered them by hacking, slitting their throats and electrocution.
According to the police, the murder was committed to steal money. The gold ornaments of Prasanna Kumary were recovered from the accused.
The 149-page charge-sheet submitted by Pampady Circle Inspector Saju Varghese has a list of 72 witnesses, 63 recovered objects and 53 documents. “The charge-sheet relies on scientific and circumstantial evidence and statements by witnesses,” Mr Saju Varghese told DC.
The evidence, including the mobile phones of Lalason and Prasanna Kumary and her gold ornaments, was also presented in the court.
The court will verify the charge-sheet and hand it over to the session’s court for trial. Narendra Kumar, 26, alias Rahana was previously employed in a bangle factory at Firozabad.
He came to Kerala a year back and worked in a hotel at Anchalumoodu before joining the dry clean shop of Lalason in March 2015.
