Open Categories women to get first Telangana jobs
Hyderabad: Women from “Open Categories” (OC) will get first preference for jobs in all government departments to be filled by the Telangana government through recruitment exams.
The TS government has given “Roster Point No.1” to OC women wherein the first vacancy in each department has to be offered to OC woman.
The state government has scrapped the roster points devised by previous governments in undivided Andhra Pradesh to determine reservations for OCs, SCs, STs, BCs and minorities while giving jobs.
All government departments have to follow the roster points while selecting candidates for jobs. Vacancies in each department will have to be offered to candidates in the order of roster points from 1 to 25.
After bifurcation, the TS government has decided to scrap all the roster points that were in force in undivided AP and issue fresh roster points for the new state.
A roster point scale ranging from 1 to 25 has been devised by the TS government, allotting a point to each category. The vacancies in each department have to be offered to respective category candidates in the order of roster points.
For instance, in the finance department, if the last post was offered to a candidate of roster point no. 5 (say OC) in undivided AP, then the next post would have to be offered to roster point no.6 (visually challenged woman).
But the TS government has decided to scrap the pending roster points of undivided AP and follow fresh roster points from No. 1 to 25 beginning with OC women.
It may be noted that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had cleared 15,000 vacancies in various departments to be filled through TS Public Service Commission and other government recruitment boards of various departments.
Another set of 10,000 vacancies is all set to be cleared soon. With this, recruitment exams will be conducted for 25,000 posts and new TS roster points from 1 to 25 will be followed while selecting candidates.
