Two criminals held, cash recovered
Police seized 285 grams gold and two motorcycles from one accused
Hyderabad: The East Zone police nabbed two persons for chain-snatching and robbery. One of them, Mohammed Jahangeer was involved in more than 20 chain-snatching cases.
Jahangeer, 30 was nabbed from Habsiguda, and V. Vishnuvardhan, 30 at the Jamia Osmania railway station. Jahangeer, of Dabeerpura, supplies raw materials for building construction.
“He committed the same offences after he was released from jail,” said East Zone DCP Dr Ravinder. “He stole two motorcycles and used them for chain snatching. From January to July, he was involved in seven cases,” he said.
Vishnuvardhan, a private employee, used to rob women at knife point. Police said he also used to cheat girl students by offering to secure scholarships for them. Police seized 285 grams gold and two motorcycles from one accused, and Rs 30,000 cash and 3.5 grams gold from the other.
