I play a real character in Killing Veerappan: Parul Yadav
Parul, one of the busiest actresses in Kannada, is playing a de-glam character in Ram Gopal Varma’s Killing Veerappan for the first time.
“It’s true. My costumes were picked up from the streets and it’s a real character. She is still alive,” says Parul.
The actress refuses to reveal more about the character because the director wants to surprise the audience.
“Moreover, it is the most important character in the film. This is my best performance till date,” she says. She is also confident that it’s an award-winning role.
Working with RGV has always been Parul’s dream. “I have grown up watching his films. Now my dream has come true,” she says.
She added that RGV was very friendly on the sets. “He makes everyone comfortable while shooting. He always listens to everyone and if he likes something, he immediately asks us to follow that,” she says.
Sandeep Bharadwaj is playing Veerappan and he looks just like the sandalwood smuggler. “Yes, he looks like a real Veerappan. If he will walk on Bengaluru’s streets, people will surely get scared thinking he’s Veerappan’s ghost. He saw some videos of the real Veerappan on Youtube to get his mannerisms right. In fact, he even grew a big moustache just like the real Veerappan,” she says.
Parul is also doing a cameo in another film called Upendra 2. “I am a big fan of Upendra sir and he is also a friend. When he asked me to do this cameo, I couldn’t say no. I have a good romantic song with him and also a couple of scenes,” says Parul.
“The whole industry is looking forward to this film because Upendra sir is directing it,” she adds. Both these films are going to release in Telugu too.
“There are a few offers in Telugu, but I want to make my debut with a good one. So I am waiting for the right script. I am confident that Killing Veerappan will definitely open doors for me in Tollywood,” says Parul.
