Tamil film industry is waking up to the Bollywood market

Looks like Tamil film industry is waking up to the Bollywood market and willing to test those waters. The latest one is Vadivudayan’s film Sowcarpettai which is being simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
The film from the horror genre features Shrikanth and Raai Laxmi in the lead. Shrikanth will be seen in a dual role for the first time, one of them being a powerful aghori. Though Raai Laxmi was already part of a horror comedy Aranmanai, she plays a normal girl in that film. In Sowcarpettai she appears as a ghost that has quite a scary look. Titled Tantra Shakti for B’town, the director says that it is not a run-of-the-mill horror film and both Laxmi and Shrikanth are portrayed in a different light.
If all goes well, Tantra Shakti will mark both Raai Laxmi and Shrikanth’s debut in Bollywood, which is scheduled to have its release in September.
