Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 2 gets leaked, Mi 5 Plus tipped to exist

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant, which does not seem to be looking back, has recently taken top slot in China, surpassing Samsung and Apple. Presently, the Chinese startup is on number three position in the world with the title of the World’s third-smartest tech companies. Xiaomi is planning to launch some more products this week and the Redmi Note 2 seems to be at the front end.

According to Mobile Picker, Xiaomi will be unveiling the Redmi Note successor, the Note 2, which is reported to be priced at 1099 Yuan (approx Rs 11,300). The Redmi Note 2 was tipped on Twitter by @kjuma with a photo of the box and the device with the hardware specifications on the screen. If the images are to be believed, the Redmi Note 2 will sport a MediaTek Helio X10 chipset with an octa-core 2GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and based on MIUI V6 with Android Lollipop.

Other specifications that were revealed about the device earlier mention the display with a 5.5-incher full HD IPS panel and a 13MP / 5MP camera with a body thickness of 8mm and weighing 159g. The Redmi Note 2 is also said to be powered by a 3020mAh battery.

Apart from the Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 5 is also said to have a second device alongside. The Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus is also rumoured to be unveiled at the same event (with the Mi 5). While the Mi 5 is said to sport a 5.2-inch quad HD display, SD 810 quad core processor with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and a 16MP camera, fingerprint sensor and MIUI 7, the Mi 5 Plus, tipped by GizmoChina, speaks of a 6-incher 2K display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage and a 16MP camera with an SD810 chipset. The Mi 5 Plus is presently a mystery device and there are no reports of its existence at this moment.
