‘Will be more than happy’, Salman Khan eager to meet real life ‘munni’

Geeta is touted to be the Indian girl stuck in Pakistan who can neither speak nor hear

Mumbai: Bollywood hit Bajrangi Bhaijaan may have been a work of fiction, but in Karachi it is a real life story of an Indian girl who can neither speak nor hear and stuck in Pakistan for 13 years with all efforts to trace her family in India remaining unsuccessful.

First brought to an Edhi Centre in Lahore, the girl was shifted to the shelter in Karachi where Bilquis Edhi named her 'Geeta' and has become quite close to the girl. Now 23-year-old, Geeta is believed to have mistakenly crossed into Pakistani territory as a child.

Speaking to the media, Salman Khan said Geeta must have a better life in India than she has had in Pakistan. He also said that Geeta should be looked after well once she's brought back to India. "She must be having her own family and friends there. We should make sure her life out here is a lot better than it was there, otherwise phir point kya hai?" the actor said.

The actor further said that government is looking into this issue and is keen on getting Geeta back to her native family. "The government is looking into it and I think they are very competent people. For us to try and find out ke maa baap kaun hai would be difficult. Galat maa baap tak pahunch jaati then she would be unhappy with us so let the government take care," he said.

Salman also said that he'd be happy to meet Geeta if she so wanted.
