Sankeerth, Tarun slam centuries in two-day league matches

Hyderabad: Four centuries and a five-wicket haul were the highlights of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s two-day plate league matches played in the city.
Jitender Singh of the Khalsa scored a magnificent 148 in 137 balls as his team declared their innings at 350/7 in reply to HBCC’s 179. Jitender’s innings included as many as 16 fours and eight sixes. The match ended in a draw when HBCC were 272/5 in 44.5 overs in their second innings. P. Sanjay Hrishikesh was the top-scorer for HBCC with 100.
In a high scoring game, G. Sankeerth and Tarun Reddy scored centuries as Osmania made 389 against Sai Satya. Sankeerth top-scored in the innings with 117 while Tarun made a solid 110. In reply, Sai Satya’s batsmen responded well by posting 356/7 in 90 overs. This match too ended in a draw when Osmania were 115/2 in their second innings.
In another match, Jai Bhagwati folded for 187 in their first innings against Zinda Tilismath thanks to Ammar Ayub’s 5/64. In reply, Zinda Tilismath declared their first innings at 209/9 in 69.1 overs. Jai Bhagwathi made 245/6 and set up a target of 224 for Zinda Tilismath to win the match. However, a draw was agreed upon when Zinda were 115/1 in 20 overs.
