Delhi Metro Rail Corporation shuts zonal office as monorail project dropped

The DMRC has not officially responded to this

KOZHIKODE: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is planning to close its zonal office here.

The DMRC has given a letter in this regard to the building owners informing them that the office would be vacated by September 30.

However, the DMRC has not officially responded to this. It was in April 2012 that the DMRC opened office at Chalappuram here.

At present, it is situated at Thondayad in a private business park with a staff strength of 12 members. It is learnt that the DMRC is unhappy over the lukewarm response from the state.

In its letter to the building owner, the DMRC has mentioned these reasons. The state government announced light metro after the scrapping of the monorail, but it failed to spell out the details.
