Divyadarshini who is fondly addressed as ‘DD’ has been missing in action for the past few months. Though she has hosted many shows on Vijay TV, the bubbly DD became popular with her Koffee with DD show.
The show came to an end recently. Rumours were rife that she was shown the door by the management and there were speculations that DD was in the family way and could not continue.
Her reported goof up while anchoring an award function where she gave little space for the celebs to express their thoughts, didn’t go well with the organisers. This was said to be one of the reasons for DD to put in her papers. Incidentally, she had a minor surgery on her leg and is recuperating from it.
However, when contacted DD clears the air. “Nothing has happened to me. Having worked for more than 10 years, I wanted a break and also the season had to end like any other show. We are coming out with our next. And reports like I got pregnant and I was shown the door by the channel are all baseless rumours.”
The channel also went one step ahead and aired a programme recently called Enga Veetu Chellam where they interviewed DD and cleared the air surrounding her absence in the channel.
“With the kind messages pouring in from everybody and people debating my absence on social networking sites, I realise how much connect the show has with audiences. It’s a nice feeling to know that I am being loved and remembered. I will remain with only Vijay TV and soon you will see,” DD signs off!
