Emergency plan for water crisis in Telangana

TS may use high-power motors to lift dead storage level water from Nagarjunasagar

Hyderabad: The Telangana State government is gearing up to tackle emergencies that might arise from drinking water scarcity due to drought conditions in the region. The measures include using high-power motors to lift dead storage level water from Nagarjunasagar to meet the drinking water needs of Hyderabad beyond October.

“There will be no scarcity of drinking water for at least the next three months, but if there are no rains in the coming days, we will take steps to augment drinking water supplies by lifting dead storage water from Nagarjunasagar to feed the Krishna Phase 1, 2 and 3,” said revenue principal secretary B.R. Meena on Friday.
