Abused girl dials 100 in suicide bid
Hyderabad: A second year graduate student of Nizam College called ‘Dial 100’, the helpline, and said she would commit suicide due to alleged harassment by her seniors.
The victim, 21, a second year degree student, alleged that, one Rajasekhar, 22, a final year student, had been harassing her for the past few days.
On Thursday at about 10 am, she called ‘Dial 100’ and informed them that she would end her life. She then left the college campus and went to the police to file a complaint. It was alleged that the police did not respond. However police denied the charge.
“She told us about problem and requested to counsel the boy. Rajasekhar said that he would not repeat it. We counselled him and let him go.” said an official from the Abids PS.
Meanwhile, some mediapersons who got news of the incident went to the college campus but were reportedly beaten up by some students.
