Visakhapatnam: A girl, studying senior Intermediate in a private college, was found dead in mysterious circumstances near her home at Appannapalem under Golugonda police station limits in Vizag district on Tuesday night. She was burnt to death and her parents said she was murdered. Seventeen-year-old Surada Divya Sree was pursuing second year Intermediate (BiPC) at Rishi College in Narsipatnam.
Sub-Inspector of Golugunda police station N. Joga Rao said that Sree didn’t attend classes on August 4 citing ill health and sat at home .
Her father S. Tata Rao is an auto-driver and mother is a worker at a clothes showroom in Narsipatnam. They went for their duties leaving Sree alone. Around 9 pm, they returned home and found that a stray dog was eating the flesh of a body and were shocked to know that it was that of their daughter.
Based on a complaint lodged by the parents, the cops reached the village and shifted the body to the government hospitals for post-mortem. SI Joga Rao said they were suspecting that it was a case of either murder or suicide and that they were waiting for the post-mortem report. The cops registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC (suspicious death) and investigation is on.
