After soaking in all the accolades for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Harshaali Malhotra is now out of the limelight. The little scene-stealer has gone back to her studies as she has her class-promotion exams coming up.
Speaking of her efforts during the making of the film, Kabir Khan says, “Harshaali did bring her studies on the sets. But her studies suffered. Now, she has to make up for it. Her mother is very strict and very clear about Harshaali’s priorities. No more media attention for the little one for now.”
Kabir, who has become very fond of Harshaali, says he is in touch with her. In fact, she is the same age as Kabir’s own daughter. “Both Harshaali and my daughter Saira are exactly six. They became very good close friends during the making of Bajrangi Bhaijaan.”
The director lets out that Saira in fact was the first choice for Munni’s role. “She was finalised and ready for shoot. But at the last minute, she told me she didn’t want to do it. ‘Baba, I won’t like it when you shout at me in front of people,’ she said. That’s when Harshaali came in. From the start she was like, ‘Yeh role toh main hi karungi.’ And that was that!”
