RSS designs clear, Pinarayi Vijayan to SNDP
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM politburo member Mr Pinarayi Vijayan continued his attack on the SNDP leadership for attempting to push the organisation into the Sangh Parivar fold.
The CPM leader said the RSS had tried to rope in SNDP and NSS in the past. But the NSS realised that the RSS would gobble up its organisation and that was the reason why Narendra Modi’s plan to visit Perunna had not materialised, he said in an article in party mouthpiece Deshabhimani.
The CPM has undertaken a campaign to expose Mr Vellapally Natesan in the wake of the latter’s recent meeting with BJP president Amit Shah and VHP chief Ashok Singhal in Delhi. The Natesan-Shah meeting had unnerved the CPM as it feared a erosion of its traditional base.
Pinarayi said the SNDP leadership had not realised yet the danger of teaming up with the RSS-VHP. “The RSS tried to install a saffron flag in Sivagiri Mutt but followers of the Guru thwarted their design. A majority of Sree Narayana Guru followers will see through the devious plans of the Sangh Parivar,” he added.
Mr Vijayan said backward classes had made some economic progress thanks to the Mandal Commission. However, Modi’s land acquisition bill would hit the backward communities the most, depriving them of their land.
“But for Mr Natesan the BJP was a friend and communists who gave 10 cents land and the right of dwelling, an enemy. Will there be any takers in the community for his theory?” he asked in his article.
He said the big surge of backward-dalit communities under Lalu-Mulayam-Mayawati in north India had forced the BJP to woo these communities.
“But the policy formation council of the Sangh Parivar still contained members who were the biggest proponents of the chathur varyna system,” he added.
