IAS officer DK Ravi case: AIIMS team meets Victoria Hospital doctors

The team will submit its report to the CBI in 2-3 weeks.

BENGALURU: A three-member team of the forensic medicine department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, is in the city as part of the investigation being carried out by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged unnatural death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi.

The team comprising Dr Sudhir Gupta, head of forensic medicine department, Dr Adarsh Kumar and Dr Abhishek, visited the mortuary in the Victoria Hospital and interacted with doctors who had conducted the post-mortem. Ravi was found hanging at his flat in St John’s Wood apartment on Tavarekere Road on March 16.

Sources in the forensic medicine department of the Victoria Hospital told Deccan Chronicle that the AIIMS team, which has to submit its report to the CBI, took feedback and technical details of the post-mortem. “The team met Dr Venkata Raghavan, the head of the forensic medicine department in the Victoria Hospital, on Monday.

He was heading the team that conducted the post-mortem. The team discussed various issues related to the case and got details from him. This was done as a procedure, as they have to consult the doctors, who conducted post-mortem, before they submit their final report to the CBI,” a source said.

The source also added that it appeared like the AIIMS doctors had almost concluded that it was a clear case of suicide and they expressed it subtly during the discussions. It is also that the team also visited the flat where Ravi ended his life and gathered several details from the spot. It is said that the AIIMS team would submit its report in 2-3 weeks.
