Musunuru woman MRO gets death threat

The MRO was in the news recently after she was allegedly attacked by TD MLA

Vijayawada: Musunuru mandal revenue officer D. Vanajakshi on Tuesday received a postcard warning her that she would be killed if she did not opt for a transfer and move out from the mandal within 10 days.

The MRO was in the news recently after she was allegedly attacked by TD MLA Ch. Prabhakar and his men at the sand reach on the borders of Krishna and West Godavari districts.

The author of the postcard claims that he or she had been given the contract to kill Ms Vanajakshi on the eighth day of the attack on her. The “contract killer” also claimed to have conducted a recce of her residence twice.

The postcard also warns Ms Vanajakshi of dire consequences if she tells anyone about it.

Unfazed, the MRO approached the police and lodged a complaint late on Tuesday. Ms Vanajakshi said the she does not fear such threats. “I am doing my duty as per the orders of government and there is no need for me to fear anybody,” she said.

Earlier on Tuesday, she had Polavaram project works in the mandal and returned to her office in the evening. It was while she was going through the day’s mail she noticed the postcard.

Musunuru police registered a case and started investigation. SI P. Vijay Kumar said that they are trying to trace the sender.
