Industry awaits sops from K Chandrasekhar Rao
The minister has promised to look into the 200-capacity mini theatres
On Wednesday, the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce (TSFCC) president Ram Mohan Rao met the Telangana state cinematography minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav and discussed a 16-point agenda for the development of Telugu cinema. “The minister responded very positively and is going to discuss the points once again before meeting the chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao,” says a source. Along with Rao, producers Dil Raju, Narayan Narang Das, Sudhakar Reddy and N. Shankar also met the minister.
The producers also discussed the difficulties while shooting in Hyderabad. “When we asked the minister to apply the single window method for shooting in the city, he responded positively. Also, the minister agreed to allocate one acre land for the new TSFCC office and its allied bodies,” says the source.
They also spoke about the upcoming Children’s Film Festival that is held in Hyderabad. “Since this is the first time that the festival is being held after the bifurcation, TSFCC agreed to make it a grand affair,” adds the source. Apparently, the minister has promised to look into the 200-capacity mini theatres planned for all Mandal headquarters too.
The TSFCC and the minister will meet again before August 20 before the final draft is sent to the chief minister. “The Telangana chief minister may announce the concessions during Dasara,” says the source. He may also announce a film institute on par with international standards.
