Actor Sidharth Malhotra can finally have a bit of rest. Having just about wrapped up the upcoming Brothers, Sidharth is now working to lose weight for Kapoor And Sons. “We had to train rigorously for almost four months for Brothers. Now, I want to stay away from the gym. For Kapoor And Sons, I have to shed some weight and look normal. So, it’s yoga now for me,” the actor says.
About his journey in Bollywood so far, the actor says he is yet to catch up on all the industry’s lessons. “Today’s generation wants to see their hero in different avatars. So, I have been risking different characters in the short time I’ve been in the industry. I have yet to see a lot in the race,” he adds.
Sidharth is also in awe of his Brothers co-star Akshay Kumar. “He is like my elder brother. I remember when I was discussing the purchase of a flat in Mumbai with him, he told me to not go for a small flat. ‘You must pick a bigger one, with four rooms’, he said. When I said I don’t have enough money, he said, ‘Jab tu ghar kharidega na, toh tere paas paise apne aap aa jayega’. That kind of support made me very emotional,” says Sidharth.
The actor also admits Brothers will remind many of the bond they shared with a sibling. “My brother is 15 years elder to me and we would fight around petty issues. He would throw me out of the room and sometimes would lock me inside. My mum would try to patch us up. Now, having turned 30, I’m homesick and at this juncture of my life, I feel like staying with my mum, dad and brother again. That bond strengthens with distance, I suppose.”
The actor also dodges rumours of an ongoing relationship with Alia Bhatt — “I’m currently single… living all alone with my dog.”
