Glamorous? Not in her next

The gorgeous Jacqueline Fernandez tells us about going de-glam for her role in Brothers
She’s known for her glamorous avatar on (and off) screen, but in her next release, Brothers, Jacqueline Fernandez will be seen in a far simpler look. Jackie plays a mom in this film, and she admits she was apprehensive about taking on the part.
“It was experimental for me… At first, I was quite hesitant to take on such a role because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get into something so intense at this point of my career. It’s been amazing because it’s actually taken away the stress of looking glamorous all the time and that helped me concentrate on getting into the skin of the character. As much as I love the commercial stuff, I think this experience will help me in my future projects,” she says.
Another advantage of her role was the chance to bond with her on-screen daughter, Naisha Khanna. “I get along well with kids and enjoy working with them. If you’re patient with them, somehow they too are patient with you. Karan Malhotra was able to direct the child actor well in the film, and that made it easier for everybody,” she says.
Meanwhile, the actress has also started on the shoot for Dishoom with Varun Dhawan and John Abraham in Morocco. “It’s my third film with John and I keep telling him, ‘Oh my God, how can this be our third film together!’ With Varun of course, it’s my first. Varun is this big ball of positive energy and we have the same sense of humour. We are even adopting a cuddly monkey now! Dishoom is a young film,” Jackie says. “So coming out of Brothers — a serious, intense family drama — I’m having a lot of fun on Dishoom.”
