Coimbatore: Police arrested three persons including two college students for snatching two sovereigns of gold chain from a 16-year-old girl in Coimbatore. Police said the girl, a plus-1 student at a private school was walking to Chennanur bus stop to take a bus to reach home at Krishnapuram in Alandurai on Saturday evening, when the chain snatchers struck.
“She was returning home after attending her tuitions. Three persons, in a bike, followed her and snatched her chain, before fleeing away in their vehicle. As the girl raised an alarm, the public managed to note down the vehicle number,” police said.
Based on the vehicle number and identification marks, the Perur police traced the accused persons on Sunday. They were identified as Sathish Kumar, 18, from SIDCO, Karthick, 20 and Binesh, 20, both from Sundarapuram.
