Mumbai: The ace director may be busy with his periodic film ‘Mohenjo-daro’ starring Hrithik Roshan but Ashutosh Gowariker has his eyes on a Kannada film he wants to remake.
‘Rangitaranga’, featuring Nirup Bhandari, Avantika Shetty and Radhika Chethan, and Saikumar in the lead roles, is said to be the super hit of the year. Written and directed by debutant Anup Bhandari, the film is a Kannada mystery thriller. According to reports Anup has refused to disclose any details about the rumoured deal with Ashutosh however the buzz has made everyone bursting with joy.
‘Rangitaranga’ is set in Kamarottu, a fictional village in the Dakshina Kannada region of Karnataka, as Indu's (Radhika Chetan) ancestral village, she and her husband Gautam (Nirup Bhandari), decide to perform a ritual to ward off evil spirits. The story follows Gautam uncovering a mysterious trail of crime on finding his wife missing and the final discovery of the criminal.
