Google quietly releases second version of Glass
Google was working on the second version of the Google Glass and had aimed it specifically to the business sector, six months after scrapping the same gadget for consumers. According to The Telegraph, the search giant, which scrapped an early version of its internet-connected smart glasses in January, has developed a second model just for businesses.
The new Glass now incorporates a mini computer onboard, which is said to be faster than the predecessor, and can be attached to any spectacle frame using the button and hinge system. The wireless system seems to have been boosted and the battery life is also improved by two hours.
The iconic prism glass of the Glass is also longer and thinner and can also be moved vertically or horizontally, which can be adjusted by the user. The WSJ has also reported that the battery has been developed by Google, themselves. The WSJ further reported that the second version of the Glass has been distributed to businesses for use in the office and will not be released to public. The new version the Glass is said to be released to public only by 2016.
