On Friday, the court had remanded the other accused in the case
BENGALURU: Ashok Kumar, the accused in the Lokayukta corruption case, will be produced before the Lokayukta Special Court on Monday. It is most likely that the SIT officials would not request for extension of his police custody.
On Friday, the court had remanded the other accused in the case, M.B. Srinivasa Gowda and Shankare Gowda, in judicial custody. As the SIT officials requested for extension of Ashok’s police custody, the court had extended it till Monday. “As his police custody will end on Monday, he will be produced before the court in the morning. We will not seek for further extension of his custody as we have completed his interrogation completely,” an SIT official said.
Meanwhile, the SIT team which had taken the prime accused Ashwin Yerabati to Hyderabad as part of the investigation has reportedly returned to the city on Sunday. SPP to file objections: As per the court direction, the Special Public Prosecutor K Janardhan would file objections against the bail petitions filed by all the accused in the case. It is likely that the court would adjourn the hearing pending judgment on the bail applications.
