India’s first data analytics park to come up in Gachibowli
TS in consultation with ESCI to take a decision by Sept
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has proposed to set up a data analytics park, the first of its kind in the country, at Gachibowli. The state government is consulting with the Engineering Staff College of India, said IT minister K.T. Rama Rao.
“No where in India does this kind of a park exist. We have made a proposal to Engineering Staff College of India, an autonomous wing of India’s largest body of professional engineers. Its board will meet in September to take a decision. Based on this, we will be able to take a decision as to where this park will come up,” the minister said, adding, “One thing is sure that it will come up in and around Gachibowli.”
The minister was speaking at the inauguration of the second office of Techwave Consulting Inc, a global delivery centre at Madhapur. The unit, with an investment of $5 million, is coming up at the Phoenix aVance business park.
He said the state needs more home-grown companies like Techwave along with other IT majors. “It is these companies, besides the large conglomerates, that create and generate employment. Small and medium enterprises are very important and that is why our government is planning to set up SME Tower at Kondapur. A good address is very important for SMEs to attract investments and we would like to provide them that,” he said.
Techwave CEO Damodar Rao Gummadapu said the facility was being inaugurated after the company opened operations in West Asia, Asia-Pacific and expanded into the US. He said the new facility will create employment to another 250 persons. “Our goal is to increase the employee base in Hyderabad to 1,000 and globally to 1,500. This we would like to achieve by the end of December 2016,” he said.
