Armyman beats up civilians in Thimmayya Line gates, Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Several locals and passersby gathered near the Thimmayya Line gates soon after the accused Army Naik was caught for attempting to molest a 14-year-old girl in RK Puram.

However, tension mounted when a group of Army personnel arrived with sticks and attacked the crowd to disperse them. Few people were injured in the incident, however, the police say that they have not received a written complaint regarding the matter.

“After we caught the accused, he alerted another Army man who was on guard duty. He called up others and they came to attack us. They beat us up with sticks,” said a local witness. When the locals refused to hand over the accused to the Army officials, they forcibly took him away.
