There is always more to simple everyday items than meets the eye. The same holds true for rubber hands. Popular YouTuber Crazy Russian Hacker shows how to do 10 effective life hacks using rubber bands in one of his videos:
1) Stretch a rubber band across the length of your paint can, so that you can use it to wipe down your dripping brush when working on a painting project.
2) Wash fragile glass stemware in the dishwasher safely by placing them in the rack and stretch a rubber band around the stemware and over the spokes of the dishwasher to keep them securely tethered to the dishwasher.
3) Prevent wide-necked T-shirts from falling off your cloth hanger by wrapping either end of the hanger with a rubber band.
4) Keep cut fruits like apples fresh even after a long time, first cut the apple using an apple slicer, then simply tie a rubber band around to keep the slices together in place.
5) Your rubber band can also double up as a screw extractor. Just place your rubber band over the screw head; this will give you the extra grip to get the screw out easily.
6) Avoid mixing up beer bottles during a drinking session by tying different coloured rubber bands to make it easier to identify their bottle.
7) Ensure decorative items like party ribbons don’t come off from the ribbon spool by securing them with a rubber band.
8) Stretch a rubber band around the stuck or slipper jar lid to open it easily.
9) Stop your cutting board from spinning on a slipper table counter by wrapping a rubber band around both side of the board.
10) Prevent your door from latching as you enter and exit the room by tying a rubber band across the doorknobs on either side of the door.
