Playing a boxer wasn’t tough: Akshay Kumar
Despite having worked in action films all through his career and earning the moniker of Khiladi, this is the first time that Akshay Kumar will play a boxer in his upcoming film Brothers. How was it to train for it? “I’ve always been athletic and sporty, so playing a boxer was not tough for me.”
The film is a remake of Gavin O’Conner’s Warrior, which is a story about two brothers battling it out in the boxing ring. Sidharth Malhotra plays his kid brother.
He continues, “Brothers is full of unbelievably high quality fights like you’ve never seen before in Indian cinema. Karan Johar (who produces the film) and I haven’t worked together in the past because we were both doing our own thing with our own companies. There are only so many days in a year and only so many films one can make. We have waited patiently for the right script to bring us together. All I can say is, this is one hell of a collaboration.”
